LaStella is about sharing our passion for fresh ingredients handled with attentive care using old world methods and technique to bring you our version of what Nana Zuvich would make. This is why we chose to import Nanaimo’s first wood fire pizza oven and why we create hand made pasta from scratch each and every day. For the gluten-sensitive folks out there we also make fresh, gluten free pasta by hand using our own in-house recipe.

Our passion is fresh, seasonal ingredients handled with care and attention using old world methods. Simple prepared dishes with minimal ingredients lets the products of Vancouver Island shine. Our wood-fired oven is the center stage, churning out our version of Napoli style pizza. Cooking at 900ºF, our pizzas are finished in about 90 seconds resulting in a fresh, crisp yet chewy crust, with slight wood fire char, The best in thin crust methods.

From our dough to our sauces, our meats to our pastas, everything is made in-house using the best of what the season has to offer. We hope you enjoy what we believe is a very special little Trattoria.
